QA Lead
to join our unannounced project team in Barcelona on a hybrid basis, working three days a week from the hub. We can support with visa sponsorship and relocation assistance. The role is also open to working remote/hybrid from Dublin, or remote from Portugal or the UK.
What You Will Do
Coordinate QA efforts within the game area, managing daily operations to ensure efficient testing, complete coverage, and alignment with project milestones.
Lead and mentor a team of QA Analysts, guiding their daily work and professional growth while fostering a collaborative, high‑performing environment.
Develop and maintain test plans and strategies aligned with design and technical requirements, overseeing execution across gameplay, systems, UI, and backend components.
Collaborate with engineers, producers, and designers to integrate quality standards throughout development, from concept to release; work with localization, deployment, and live ops teams to validate updates and patches.
Analyze data and defect trends to identify risks and root causes, providing clear insights to project leadership and delivering concise QA reports on coverage and release readiness.
Lead release readiness testing to ensure stable, high‑quality builds across all platforms and support incident triage, regression testing, and post‑release analysis for live operations.
What We’re Looking For
4+ years of QA experience in the video game industry, with at least 1–2 years in a coordination or lead role.
Proven experience overseeing QA for complex gameplay systems or live service titles.
Strong understanding of QA processes, methodologies, and risk‑based testing approaches.
Skilled in planning, scheduling, and coordinating QA efforts across multidisciplinary teams.
Proficient in JIRA, Testmo, and version control or build management tools.
Familiarity with Unity and experience testing across multiple platforms (mobile, PC, console).
Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to mentor and support QA team members while maintaining accountability and clear expectations.
Experience collaborating with external QA partners or co‑development studios.
Based in or willing to relocate to Barcelona, with a hybrid schedule (3 days/week in‑office).
