As a Senior Field Sales Representative you will be accountable for leading and developing the commercial process from prospecting, evaluating, and closing large business for all of the Markforged Industrial 3‑D printing platforms. You will target key account customers in the defined markets identified by Markforged business, to meet the mission and vision of the organisation. The role blends a hands‑on dynamic salesperson, problem solver, technology consultant, teacher, and business developer, working closely with commercial and technical teams to pursue custom requests, resolve customer challenges, and build strategic relationships with customers and partners.
Responsibilities
Generate pipeline and new customer opportunities, achieving and exceeding sales targets to support and grow the territory.
Lead conversations with customers and partners, determining solutions for how the Markforged platform will fit into their environments and infrastructure.
Take a “solution‑selling” approach to active opportunities ensuring that each aspect of the Markforged platform is properly positioned to address customer/prospect needs and win opportunities.
Grow expert knowledge and proficiency with Markforged solutions, applications, and the additive manufacturing industry in general; leverage this expertise to generate innovative ideas for better utilisation of our printers with customers and partners.
Support peers in attending Markforged and VAR events to generate new leads, create pipeline, and promote the positive engagement of Markforged’s Additive Manufacturing platform as a solution.
Lead customer‑facing demonstrations and presentations, as well as support creation of technical demand generation content (blog posts, webinars, whitepapers).
Develop and further the strategy of effective use of Solution Engineers, prioritising technical pre‑sales, channel enablement, technical marketing and content generation, and/or internal value‑add to drive business growth within the territory.
Harness pre‑sales skills and business acumen within the channel, partnering with VAR counterparts in areas such as application identification, best practices for working on a pre‑sales team, and achieving the technical win.
Represent accurate forecasting to facilitate and present correct reporting with management.
Develop consultative relationships with existing and future clients, providing value through problem solving and improved adoption of Markforged technology.
Cold‑call and email into targeted accounts, lists or personally researched contacts within a specified territory/market to uncover and qualify opportunities.
Build a network; research prospective clients through web/social media, internal databases and external tools to identify leads.
Support internal product, sales, and engineering teams; drive feedback and content for marketing collateral through high‑level case studies.
Collaborate continuously with partners on opportunities & pipeline, including joint calls and technical validation with potential prospects.
Understand customer needs and requirements, explaining the value of the full Markforged solution.
Expertly demonstrate Markforged technology to end users and VARs.
Perform any other duties as reasonably required.
Qualifications
Significant proven experience in a technical pre‑sales or business development role in a technology company, preferably with industrial solutions using 3‑D‑printing technology, hardware, software, or capital‑expense equipment.
Self‑motivated with the ability to multitask and thrive in an aggressive, timeline‑driven environment, fostering determination to meet and exceed sales targets.
Proven ability to nurture and grow customer relationships for organisational benefit.
Ability to work collaboratively and independently, striving to be the best at what you do.
Organisational competencies and project‑management skills to keep projects, processes, and technical pre‑sales on track.
Excellent communication skills that foster quick, successful relationships with both internal and external customers.
Demonstrated ability to present to large groups.
Experience with Additive Manufacturing is beneficial.
Prior completion of accredited sales training such as MEDDIC or Challenger is beneficial.
Knowledge of general manufacturing processes and techniques is advantageous.
Experience with major CAD software such as Fusion 360, Solidworks, NX is a bonus.
Willingness to travel up to 60% (mostly domestic, occasionally international).
Bachelor of Science, Engineering, business, or equivalent experience.
Salary Range The pay range for this role is expected to be between £57,404.75 – £67,535 annually. Other compensation may include an annual cash bonus, a commission, a comprehensive benefits package, and other social benefits. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject‑matter expertise, geographic location of work, and the applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
