Coho Restaurant in Friday Harbor, Washington is a small, independently owned, fine dining restaurant that has been in business for over 15 years. Our focus is seasonally driven food utilizing as many local and regional farms, ranchers and suppliers as possible. We understand that exceptional food begins in the fields, nurtured by dedicated farmers who prioritize quality and sustainable practices. We cultivate relationships with small farms and food purveyors who are raising, growing, foraging, and catching the many local ingredients for our menu. In addition to our small restaurant, we are one of the region's premier catering operations and execute special events ranging from multi-course special dinners to large weddings.

Job description

Coho Restaurant is looking for a guest-focused Lead Line Cook. You will be supported by a Farm-to-Table menu, direct work with Executive Chef and owners committed to our local foods and sustainable approach to food. You will assist the Executive Chef with coordination and food production to ensure cost effective production of the highest quality food while maintaining high sanitary standards following health department regulations. Work hours/days vary as dictated by business including weekends and holidays.

We are looking for someone who works well as part of a team to create authentic dining experiences for patrons delivering genuine hospitality.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in a professional kitchen
  • Must have excellent references
  • Must be a certified food handler
  • Must be able to work efficiently with respect for quality ingredients
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Must have professional demeanor with a positive attitude and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have a respect for all employees

Compensation: This is an incentive based hourly position. A competitive hourly position with a retention bonus for committing to and following through with working our entire busy season. The hourly pay is dependent on relevant experience and knowledge.

The San Juan Islands are a magical place in the Pacific Northwest. Spend your days off hiking, exploring beautiful beaches, biking, kayaking and whale watching.

There is a one bedroom tiny house available for rent for successful applicant.
