Shape the future of learning in the food industry. We are looking for an experienced and creative Learning Design Manager to craft exceptional learning experiences that inspire and empower professionals across the food industry.
About the role Reporting to the Head of Operations – Learning, you will take the lead in designing IGD’s learning offer, creating new learning experiences and refreshing existing content to ensure it is engaging, relevant and high-quality.
You will translate strategic priorities into impactful learning experiences that support industry capability and growth. Balance digital content development with live and virtual learning, ensuring consistency across all formats.
Responsibilities
Design and build engaging learning programmes including e-learning modules, webinars, workshops and live sessions
Translate learning objectives and SME input into interactive, outcomes-focused content across formats
Develop blended learning journeys that combine digital and face‑to‑face approaches using tools such as Articulate 360 (Rise, Storyline), Synthesia, Vyond, Camtasia and workshop facilitation methods
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure content aligns with learner needs, business priorities and brand standards
Stay aware of learning trends and integrate innovative approaches, AI and emerging tools where relevant
Review and update the annual content plan
Enhance learner experience and quality
Continuously review and improve learning content to ensure consistency, accessibility and quality across digital and in-person delivery
Design learner resources, job aids and supporting materials that strengthen practical application and knowledge retention
Gather and analyse learner and stakeholder feedback to optimise content effectiveness and experience
Work closely with the engagement team to ensure learning content is promoted effectively and integrated into broader engagement initiatives
Partner with programme managers to align learning design and delivery with programme goals and desired outcomes
Collaborate with the marketing team to promote learning content and ensure brand consistency and strong audience reach
Support learning operations and collaboration
Work with the Learning team to plan and deliver content aligned to strategic goals
Contribute to continuous improvement and future direction of IGD’s learning design ensuring alignment with our strategic priorities and learner insights
Support the rollout of learning materials, internal communications and learner guidance
Maintain version control, asset management and documentation for all learning materials
Continuous professional growth
Develop your expertise in digital and face‑to‑face learning design, instructional design and multimedia production
Share ideas and insights to uplift learning capability across the team
What you bring
Proven experience designing and delivering digital and live learning experiences including e-learning modules, workshops, webinars and face‑to‑face programmes
Strong visual design and multimedia production skills (e.g. Vyond, Synthesia, Camtasia)
Excellent instructional design ability turning complex concepts into engaging learner‑centred content
Clear communication and collaboration skills able to work effectively with SMEs and programme teams
Strong planning and organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
A passion for creative, practical and data‑informed learning design
Familiarity with learning analytics tools or LMS platforms
Understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design models
Experience designing blended, gamified or inclusive learning experiences
