We are seeking a diligent and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Portland, Oregon. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for accurately preparing, processing, and shipping orders while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role is crucial to our supply chain operations, ensuring that products reach our customers on time and in perfect condition. You will work closely with our warehouse staff and transportation partners to ensure seamless coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Verify shipping orders against physical inventory and ensure accuracy.
- Package products securely for shipment, utilizing appropriate materials and techniques.
- Operate shipping software to generate labels, track shipments, and manage documentation.
- Coordinate with carriers for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage or discrepancies.
- Perform general warehouse duties as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding safety and handling of materials.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including shipping software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to perform frequent Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and the use of PPE is required.
