About the role On behalf of our client, we have an excellent opportunity in a rapidly growing business for an experienced field‑based Area Sales Engineer. The role involves selling a full range of high‑quality Industrial Control and Automation products, including Control Gear, Switchgear, Circuit Protection, Variable Speed Drives, Sensors, PLC, HMI, Enclosures, Cable Management, consumables, and Process Instrumentation. The successful candidate will develop custom and packaged solutions for OEM, End User, System Integrator, and Panel Builder markets across the M62/M180 corridor, West Yorkshire, and parts of Greater Manchester and Cheshire.
Key Responsibilities
Achieve defined sales targets and develop a personal plan to grow existing portfolio of accounts.
Identify new business opportunities and continuously expand the customer base.
Provide technical expertise and customised solutions to clients, leveraging product knowledge.
Travel within the region to meet clients – flexibility around normal office hours required.
Use Microsoft Office tools and contribute to team efforts while maintaining a level of autonomy.
Qualifications & Experience
Proven track record as a business developer and excellent salesman in the Electrical Control and Automation industry.
Sales and technical experience in the Industrial Automation industry.
Record of sales success; formal qualification in an Electrical/Electronic discipline desirable but not essential.
Strong organisational and communication skills; effective team player with autonomy.
Willingness and ability to demonstrate technical knowledge and sales skill.
