Operating Model Junior Consultant / Business Design Analyst (Transport / Energy & Utilities) Join PA Consulting London as an Operating Model Junior Consultant / Business Design Analyst specialising in transport, energy and utilities. The role is full‑time and entry level.
Job Overview Help design future operating models that enable energy, utilities and transport organisations to adapt, innovate, and lead. Work collaboratively with a diverse team of experts to support clients in designing strategies, operating structures and solutions that address their most pressing challenges.
Responsibilities
Deliver projects that require a wide range of skills, from strategic design to business analysis and organisational design.
Work in blended teams, partnering with specialists from across the breadth of PA.
Apply a design thinking mindset, tools and approaches to help resolve a range of complex and societally meaningful client challenges.
Engage and present to clients, communicating recommendations and insights from operational to C‑suite level.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years’ experience, including one or more of:
Shaping business strategy and design organisational and collaborative structures.
Analysing what an organisation’s customers/users/citizens value.
Understanding how technology can help make an organisation more effective.
Analysing and solving problems using a data‑driven and human‑centred approach.
Experience delivering within or for transport and/or energy & utility sector organisations.
Strong analytical skills and creative problem‑solving ability.
Excellent verbal and written communication, able to present to C‑suite level.
Desirable Skills
Familiarity with large capital / infrastructure programmes and asset management organisations.
Understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., Ofgem, Ofwat).
Awareness of industry trends such as energy transition, decarbonisation and smart mobility.
Knowledge of enterprise operating model concepts and planning, performance and governance frameworks for complex programmes.
