minimum 1-year contract
for a
Consultant Mechanical Design Engineer. This contract will provide the consultant engineer the opportunity to work on some of the world's most elite motorsports engineering projects across Single-Seater, Hypercar, and Endurance Racing categories. As a consultant Mechanical Design Engineer with Sinclair James, here are just some of the main topics you will be tasked with: Clean-sheet designing high-performance
mechanical components and assemblies
for racing cars. Development of
suspension
(concept, kinematics, components),
chassis ,
cooling systems ,
engine integration ,
hydraulic systems ,
fuel systems , and
wheels . Identify and implement
technical solutions
to meet internal customer needs. Deliver complete
3D and 2D designs
using
CATIA V5 , including solid and surface modeling. Collaborate with
simulation teams
to ensure optimal integration of design concepts. Working closely with
project managers
to ensure the timely delivery of the package of work milestones and consistent evaluation of the budget, risks, and supply chain constraints. Overseeing the
design mock-up
process within the design office. Ensure compliance with
safety regulations
across all projects. To be considered, you must meet the following criteria: Minimum
5 years’ experience
in either Motorsport or Hypercar engineering projects. Demonstrate a track record in the clean-sheet design of high-performance mechanical components including
suspension systems, chassis, cooling systems, power unit integration, hydraulic systems, fuel systems . Advanced user in
CATIA V5 . Fluent in English
with the ability to hold technical discussions both written and verbal. Provide 2 professional references. Ideally, hold UK or EU residency. Willing to undertake routine business travel and work onsite at our partner's technical offices located in Europe - just some of the locations you could expect to travel to include Italy, France, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, and Spain.
