Info about what the Configuration and Design Engineer role entails
As part of the Manufacturing Engineering / Operations function, you will play a key role in supporting product validation and production through the design and development of test equipment, fixtures and tooling. You will also take ownership of configuration management and engineering change control activities, working cross-functionally to ensure robust documentation, traceability and smooth implementation of design changes across the organisation.
This role combines hands‑on mechanical design with structured change management in a fast‑moving, technology‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and implement test equipment, fixtures and jigs to support product validation and production testing, while creating detailed CAD models and engineering drawings for fixtures, tooling and assemblies.
Conduct feasibility studies and develop design solutions that consider cost, performance, safety, reliability and delivery timescales.
Manage configuration control activities, including engineering documentation, bills of materials and revision control, and coordinate engineering change control to ensure accurate and timely implementation across production and the supply chain.
