FG - Graduate Electrical Design Engineer - Operations T&E Join Freedom as a Graduate Electrical Design Engineer in our Operations T&E department.

Purpose of the Role
Work in a small specialist team undertaking design work for large engineering projects under the guidance of senior or principal engineers.
Produce calculations, drawings and technical reports, carry out surveys and assessments, and conduct research into new engineering techniques and practices.
Gain experience in multiple technical disciplines in the first year, then specialise in two areas in year two.
Attend internal and client meetings, and undertake site and factory visits as required.
Support the wider team by organising extra‑curricular activities, leading on social events, and engaging with industry through technical forums.
Main Activities
Perform system studies to meet client and grid code requirements.
Use software such as AutoCAD, CYMCAP, DigSilent Power Factory, and PLS‑CAD.
Carry out earthing design and soil test surveys.
Produce technical reports.
Execute detailed design work for PV/Wind farm connections and distribution substations up to 132 kV.
Cable sizing and route design.
Support senior engineers to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to customer expectations.
Serve operational staff and answer technical queries.
Liaise with internal and external clients and suppliers.
Carry out responsibilities within the company’s SHEQ requirements.
Requirements
2:2 degree or above in Electrical Engineering.
GCSE English & Maths Grade 4 or equivalent/above.
IT literate – Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, PDF editors and AutoCAD.
Right to work indefinitely in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
