Sumitomo Drive Technologies EMEIA . We design variable frequency drives that reduce energy use in industrial applications. The role is based at our global headquarters and manufacturing facility in Welshpool, UK, and focuses on user‑focussed, insight‑led product innovation. Responsibilities
Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, and production‑ready drawings. Support ongoing product life‑cycle management and design reviews. Prototype, validate, and mechanically test designs using 3D printing and other manufacturing techniques. Produce design documentation, illustrations, and technical visuals. Collaborate with engineering, compliance, and manufacturing colleagues. Follow established design release workflows and problem‑solving processes across active projects. Essential Requirements
Undergraduate degree in Industrial Design or Product Design with at least two years industry experience. Portfolio demonstrating inventive designs turning sketches into commercially available products. Proficiency with 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks). Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset. Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage tight timescales. Understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes. Creative, self‑motivated, and adaptable team player. Benefits
