Leigh Academy Bexley is searching for a highly motivated and skilled Design & Technology Technician to join our team ASAP and ignite the learning experience. You will be an essential collaborator driving our thriving engineering, design technology, and food curricula.
Responsibilities
Prepare all necessary materials and equipment before lessons so teaching staff can focus on delivery.
Take full ownership of our state‑of‑the‑art workshop and machinery, overseeing cleaning, essential maintenance, and ensuring every piece of equipment is in peak working order.
Maintain impeccable standards by keeping Health and Safety procedures current, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring a safe learning environment for everyone.
Manage crucial stock inventories, provide hands‑on support to students during practical lessons, and deliver dynamic, small‑group demonstrations on the safe use of specialist equipment.
Qualifications
Self‑Driven: Reliable, effective, and capable of conquering tasks with minimal supervision.
Organised: Sharp organisational skills to keep a busy, fast‑paced technical environment running smoothly.
Adaptable: Flexible and eager to tackle a diverse range of responsibilities across multiple subject areas.
Communication: Able to connect and communicate effectively with both young people and adult staff.
