Locations: Bristol, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh, London
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 40% in office (2 days per week)
About This Opportunity We’re seeking a passionate, forward‑thinking Application Security expert who combines exceptional technical leadership and deep security expertise with a strong business mentality. This role will set the direction for Application Security at Lloyds Banking Group, covering Application Development Security, Application Security Testing, Release Management, Application Operation Protection, Mobile Application Protection, and Threat Modelling.
As a member of the Enterprise Security Architecture team, you will drive the Group’s vision for Application Security, partner with engineers, create strategic roadmaps, evolve security services, and uphold the highest standards of quality across all capabilities.
Responsibilities
Define the target state for security architectural capabilities and solve complex architectural problems.
Perform research and development in collaboration with other security teams to keep the architecture ahead of challenges and the Group’s technology transformation agenda.
Describe and help run the complexity of the Group’s Enterprise Security Architecture and associated interlocks.
Support strategic change within the Group, specifically security change, by taking a leading architectural role in shaping and supervising initiatives.
Communicate and work closely with a variety of security teams and senior customers to ensure architecture delivers the desired business outcomes.
Produce your own artefacts and lead your own delivery dates, ensuring they integrate into the wider bank reference architecture and Group Security Architecture.
Qualifications / What You’ll Need
Deep knowledge across security domains, especially with experience driving excellence for Application Security and using Threat Modelling to drive security requirements.
Ability to work with and oversee major security strategic change initiatives, providing leadership and direction to ensure architectural objectives are met.
Experience developing cyber security domain architecture that is business‑enabling and optimises the maturity of the Group’s cyber defences.
Strong understanding of multi‑ and hybrid‑cloud environments and how Enterprise Security Architecture secures them.
Ability to view problems from many perspectives and solve sophisticated challenges with enterprise‑wide impact.
Provide line management to solution architects and support change delivery teams to ensure work delivers value.
