About the Concept
MarginLink Restaurant Group is opening a new, upscale Latin/Mexican restaurant in San Pedro Square. This will be an energetic, high-quality dining and bar experience built around exceptional food, cocktails, and hospitality. The project offers the rare opportunity to help shape a concept from the ground up in one of downtown San Jose's most vibrant districts.

Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead the culinary development and opening of this new concept. The ideal candidate combines creativity with discipline—someone who can craft a distinctive, high-quality menu while building an efficient kitchen, managing to budget, and developing a strong, positive culture.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the restaurant's full culinary program from concept to opening.
• Design and test menus showcasing Latin and Mexican influences.
• Hire, train, and mentor a high-performing kitchen team.
• Manage food and labor costs, vendor relationships, and inventory controls.
• Collaborate with ownership on kitchen layout, purchasing, and equipment.
• Partner with leadership on beverage programming, pairings, and specials.
• Ensure operational excellence, sanitation, and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a senior culinary leadership role (Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine).
• Deep knowledge of Latin and/or Mexican cuisines.
• Proven experience managing budgets and teams.
• Prior restaurant opening experience strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to balance creativity with business sense.
• Bilingual preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 DOE
