Join our vibrant logistics team in San Diego, California, as a Material Handler! We are looking for a dedicated individual to support the smooth flow of goods within our warehouse. This role is fundamental to our operations, ensuring that all materials are managed efficiently from receipt to dispatch. You will be instrumental in handling, storing, and moving inventory, utilizing various equipment to maintain optimal stock levels and order fulfillment accuracy. Key responsibilities include operating forklifts and pallet jacks, loading and unloading delivery vehicles, and organizing stock within the warehouse. A paramount focus is placed on Safety ; you will be expected to strictly adhere to all company guidelines, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires significant physical stamina, including the ability to perform regular Lifting of items up to 50 pounds, as well as prolonged periods of standing, walking, and bending. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials according to established procedures.
- Pick, pack, and stage orders for shipment with accuracy.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stocktaking.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and wear required PPE at all times.
- Report any issues with equipment or workplace conditions promptly.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless warehouse operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Logistics team.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a Material Handler role or similar warehouse setting.
- Proficiency in operating material handling machinery.
- Capable of heavy Lifting (up to 50 lbs) and physical exertion.
- Understanding of inventory management and warehouse best practices.
- Strong commitment to workplace Safety and proper PPE usage.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of the Logistics field is beneficial.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
