We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in San Jose, California. This role is crucial for the efficient operation of our warehouse, ensuring that materials are received, stored, and distributed accurately and on time. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that require attention to detail and a commitment to safety protocols. Your primary duties will include operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will also be tasked with loading and unloading trucks, inspecting incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Adherence to all company safety regulations and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. This position demands regular Lifting of up to 50 pounds and involves significant physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting for extended periods. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse operations and a proactive approach to problem-solving within the fast-paced logistics industry. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately.
- Receive, identify, and store materials in designated locations.
- Pick, pack, and stage orders for shipment.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely.
- Must be able to perform heavy Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Knowledge of warehouse procedures and inventory control.
- Commitment to Safety and proper use of PPE.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Basic understanding of Logistics principles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
