We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Chicago, Illinois. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. This role is critical to our daily operations, ensuring that goods are transported, stored, and prepared for shipment accurately and on time. You will operate various types of forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, and reach trucks, to load and unload trucks, move pallets, and restock inventory.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing of loads.
- Conduct daily pre-operation forklift inspections and report any mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning items and updating the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, such as order picking and packing, to support overall team objectives.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment as required.
- Follow all safety procedures for Lifting and handling of materials.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with a valid certification.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong understanding of forklift safety procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy Lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
