We are actively seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our growing team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This position is vital for ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our distribution center. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping a variety of materials. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse equipment and a strong understanding of logistics principles. You will work collaboratively with other team members to meet production targets and maintain an organized and safe working environment. Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials.
- Accurately pick items based on order tickets or electronic directives.
- Pack items securely for shipment, ensuring product protection.
- Load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment.
- Operate manual and powered equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with stock management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area according to established standards.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and use required PPE.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns to supervisors.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of items up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with basic warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of safety procedures and the importance of wearing PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and tasks.
