We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to manage outgoing shipments from our Kansas City, Missouri facility. This critical role ensures that all orders are accurately documented, packed, and dispatched to our customers. Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips, and customs forms.
- Verify the contents of outgoing shipments against orders and shipping manifests.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Ensure all shipments are properly labeled and packaged for transit.
- Operate shipping software to track shipments and generate labels.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipping status.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Assist with inventory management as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to logistics and shipping.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a related logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common office applications.
- Strong understanding of shipping regulations and documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting, up to 30 pounds.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must comply with all safety protocols and use required PPE to ensure personal safety and the safety of others in the logistics operation.
