We are seeking a skilled Material Handler for our bustling New York City, New York facility. This role is essential for managing the movement and organization of materials throughout our warehouse, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, playing a key part in our logistics chain.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and store incoming materials and products.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from various departments within the facility.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stocktakes.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety regulations and guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Load and unload trucks, which will involve considerable Lifting.
- Inspect equipment regularly for proper functioning and report any issues.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our logistics operations.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed to support team objectives.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required. Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment is essential. This position demands the ability to perform frequent Lifting of items up to 60 lbs. A strong commitment to Safety and a thorough understanding of PPE requirements are mandatory.
