We are seeking a dedicated and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately preparing and dispatching shipments, ensuring all outgoing orders are processed efficiently and correctly. This role is crucial to our supply chain operations, maintaining the flow of goods to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Verify shipping information for accuracy.
- Package items securely for transport, using appropriate materials.
- Operate shipping software to create labels and track shipments.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain an organized shipping area.
- Inspect outgoing products to ensure quality and completeness.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with other departments to resolve shipping discrepancies.
- Handle inventory movements within the shipping department.
- Assist with receiving duties as needed, demonstrating versatility in logistics operations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in shipping or a related role is preferred. Must have strong attention to detail and basic computer skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. Successful candidates will be comfortable with tasks requiring moderate Lifting, up to 50 lbs. A commitment to Safety in the workplace is paramount.
