Job Summary:
Our busy Distribution Center in Washington, D.C. is looking for a dynamic Distribution Center Associate to join our team. This role is essential for the efficient operation of our facility, involving a range of tasks to ensure smooth product flow from receipt to dispatch. You will handle receiving, stocking, order picking, packing, and shipping duties, playing a key role in our overall logistics chain. We need individuals who are committed to accuracy, speed, and above all, Safety. The ideal candidate will be physically capable of performing the required tasks, including significant Lifting, and will embrace our company culture of teamwork and operational excellence. Responsibilities:
  • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments.
  • Accurately stock merchandise in designated warehouse locations.
  • Pick and pack customer orders with precision and efficiency.
  • Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
  • Operate various warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and effectively.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse space.
  • Adhere to all company Safety standards and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in inventory control activities, including cycle counts.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational targets within the logistics framework.
  • Execute tasks involving substantial Lifting, often exceeding 50 lbs.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment is preferred.
  • Proven ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including regular Lifting of heavy items.
  • Familiarity with warehouse equipment operation (forklift certification is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of warehouse Safety regulations and practices.
  • Excellent work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking.
  • Understanding of logistics principles and best practices.
