We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk for our facility in Cincinnati, Ohio. This position is vital to our **logistics** department, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that packages are correctly labeled and dispatched. A strong commitment to **safety** and attention to detail are essential in this role. You will work closely with other warehouse personnel and carriers to maintain a smooth flow of goods. Proper use of **PPE** and adherence to **safety** guidelines are mandatory. While not the primary focus, some **lifting** may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Verify accuracy of outgoing shipments against orders.
- Track shipments and provide status updates to relevant parties.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipping inquiries.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files.
- Ensure compliance with all **transportation** regulations and company policies.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems.
- Adhere to all **safety** protocols and wear appropriate **PPE** such as safety glasses and gloves.
- Assist with **lifting** and moving packages as needed, up to 30 lbs.
- Support the overall **logistics** and supply chain functions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative/logistics role.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and shipping software.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of shipping procedures and **logistics** processes.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to wear required **PPE** and follow **safety** procedures.
- Capacity for light **lifting** (up to 30 lbs).
