You will be responsible for operating material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring that materials are safely transported and stored. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report any maintenance needs.
- Organize and stack materials to ensure proper storage and accessibility.
- Assist with inventory management and stocktaking as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety standards.
- Follow all procedures for handling hazardous materials if applicable.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Support the broader logistics and supply chain operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to safety procedures and regulations.
- Willingness to wear all required PPE, such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- A proactive approach to safety and problem-solving is essential.
