We are looking for a skilled Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory data. Your duties will include conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, reconciling inventory records, and implementing procedures to minimize stock loss. A thorough understanding of warehouse operations and logistics is essential. You will work closely with warehouse associates and management to ensure that inventory is accurately tracked from receipt to shipment. Safety is a core value; you will ensure that all inventory management practices adhere to safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working within the warehouse. While this role is more analytical, there may be instances of lifting items up to 30 pounds. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Reconcile inventory records with system data.
- Implement and monitor inventory control procedures.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Work with warehouse staff to ensure accurate receiving and shipping processes.
- Maintain organized and accurate inventory records.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of PPE where applicable.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in inventory control or a related warehouse role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting as needed.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
