We are looking for a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Detroit, Michigan. This role is essential for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, verifying order details, and coordinating with carriers to schedule pickups. A strong attention to detail and organizational skills are key to success in this position. You will play a critical part in our supply chain, ensuring timely delivery to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing orders against shipping documents.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with freight carriers.
- Communicate with internal departments and external partners regarding shipment status.
- Ensure that all packages are labeled correctly and meet carrier requirements.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, supporting the overall logistics flow.
- Follow safe Lifting practices when handling packages.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative role.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and computer systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
