Join our growing team as a Material Handler in Grand Rapids, Michigan! This role is essential for the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution center. You will be responsible for moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. Your primary goal will be to ensure materials are available for production and that finished goods are efficiently moved to their next destination. We are looking for individuals who are safety-conscious, physically fit, and able to work in a dynamic environment. - Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Loading and unloading materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transporting materials to and from production areas, storage areas, and shipping docks.
- Verifying the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Stacking and organizing materials in designated areas to optimize space and accessibility.
- Conducting daily inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and reporting any issues.
- Following all Safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Assisting with inventory control and cycle counts as needed.
- Maintaining a clean and orderly workspace.
- Collaborating with team members and supervisors to ensure operational efficiency.
This position requires the ability to perform significant Lifting of materials up to 60 lbs. The use of appropriate PPE , such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots, is mandatory. A strong understanding of warehouse procedures and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment are essential.
