We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our state-of-the-art facility in San Diego, California. This role is essential to our logistics operations, involving the safe and efficient movement of materials within the warehouse. The Forklift Operator will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods to and from storage areas, and ensuring inventory is stored correctly. A strong emphasis is placed on safety and adherence to operational procedures. This is a physically demanding role that requires focus and precision. You will be operating various types of forklifts and other material handling equipment. The ideal candidate possesses a valid forklift certification and a proven track record of safe operation. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, load, unload, and stack materials.
- Inspect forklift equipment daily and report any issues or required maintenance.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Accurately place materials in designated storage locations and ensure proper stacking.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and location verification.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, free from obstructions.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Comply with all company policies and regulations related to warehouse operations.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification (e.g., OSHA-compliant).
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck).
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to following safety protocols and wearing required PPE.
- Experience in logistics or material handling is highly desirable.
