We are seeking an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk for our facility in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is crucial to the successful outward flow of our products, ensuring that all shipments are accurately processed, documented, and dispatched on time. You will be responsible for managing the shipping process, interacting with carriers, generating shipping labels, and verifying order contents. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is required to maintain our stringent logistics standards. The ideal candidate is reliable, proactive, and committed to upholding a safe and productive work environment. Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare all outgoing shipments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Create shipping labels and other necessary documentation for various carriers.
- Schedule pick-ups with shipping providers and track outgoing packages.
- Verify that all items packed correspond to the order details.
- Operate shipping equipment, including pallet jacks and shrink wrap machines.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date shipping records.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external logistics partners.
- Strictly adhere to all company Safety policies, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory verification and stock organization as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and logistics best practices.
- Handle occasional tasks involving light Lifting of boxes up to 25 lbs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in a shipping, receiving, or logistics role is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including shipping software and common office programs.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures.
- Ability to perform minor physical duties such as occasional Lifting.
