We are hiring a diligent Shipping Clerk for our busy logistics hub in Chicago, Illinois. This role is essential for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. Your responsibilities will encompass verifying orders, preparing shipping labels, coordinating with various carriers, and managing the flow of packages from our facility to their destinations. A high level of accuracy and organizational skill is required to minimize errors and maintain customer satisfaction. You will be an integral part of our supply chain operations, contributing to the seamless movement of goods. We are dedicated to providing a safe and productive work environment, and all employees are expected to strictly adhere to safety guidelines, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Be prepared for tasks involving moderate lifting. Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is highly desirable. Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare outgoing shipments accurately.
- Generate and apply shipping labels using appropriate software.
- Verify order details against shipping manifests.
- Coordinate with common carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain organized records of all shipments.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage or discrepancies.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and use required PPE.
- Ensure the shipping area is clean and well-maintained.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related warehouse role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Understanding of shipping documentation and procedures.
- Commitment to safety and the proper use of PPE.
