Are you detail-oriented and organized? We have an exciting opportunity for a Shipping Clerk in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is pivotal to our **logistics** network, ensuring the seamless dispatch of all outgoing products. You will be responsible for managing shipping documentation, coordinating with transport providers, and confirming the accuracy of every order before it leaves our facility. Maintaining a high standard of **safety** is a key aspect of this role, requiring strict adherence to guidelines and the consistent use of **PPE**. This position offers a chance to be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the efficiency of our supply chain. Occasional **lifting** may be involved.
Responsibilities:
- Generate and verify all necessary shipping documentation, including waybills and manifests.
- Schedule and manage carrier pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely departures.
- Perform quality checks on packed orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, carriers, and customers regarding shipment status.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipping logs and records.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant shipping regulations and company **safety** standards.
- Operate shipping software and equipment efficiently.
- Wear and utilize all required **PPE**, such as gloves and eye protection.
- Assist with **lifting** and maneuvering of shipments, typically weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Support the overall efficiency of the **logistics** department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a similar **logistics** role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and standard office applications.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written communication abilities.
- Awareness of warehouse **safety** best practices.
- Ability to handle occasional **lifting** of up to 40 lbs.
- Commitment to wearing appropriate **PPE** and following **safety** procedures.
