We are hiring a skilled Material Handler for our facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of various types of material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods throughout our logistics operations. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, physically capable, and possesses strong knowledge of warehouse procedures. We are dedicated to maintaining a safe and productive environment for our team.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other powered industrial trucks to move materials.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items within the warehouse.
- Stack and store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper inventory control.
- Perform regular checks on equipment to ensure safe operation and report any defects.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as required.
- Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment, following all safety protocols.
- Understand and adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially those related to safety and logistics.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics chain.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift certification is a must.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to work in various warehouse conditions, including temperature fluctuations.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety practices and logistics operations.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends if necessary.
- Commitment to wearing all required PPE and following safety guidelines strictly.
- A strong safety mindset is essential.
