We are seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory data, which is fundamental to our logistics operations. Your duties will include conducting regular inventory audits, investigating discrepancies, managing stock levels, and implementing inventory control procedures. A keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of warehouse management systems are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure data accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by analyzing transaction records and warehouse movements.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor stock levels and identify items requiring replenishment or potential obsolescence.
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures to minimize loss and damage.
- Generate reports on inventory status, turnover rates, and accuracy metrics.
- Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to ensure efficient inventory flow.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe handling of materials.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management.
- Assist with receiving and shipping processes as needed to verify inventory accuracy.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or relevant certifications preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehousing, or a related logistics role.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds and standing for extended periods.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a secure and accurate inventory system within our logistics framework.
