We are actively recruiting for a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our robust logistics operations in St. Louis, Missouri. The primary function of this role is to meticulously manage the intake of all incoming goods, ensuring accuracy, quality, and proper documentation. You will be the first point of contact for many shipments, playing a critical role in inventory control and the overall efficiency of our warehouse. Responsibilities include unloading deliveries, inspecting products for any damage or discrepancies against purchase orders, and accurately recording received items into our inventory management system. Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are essential to prevent errors and maintain accurate stock levels. Adherence to all warehouse safety protocols and the correct utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. This position offers a stable work environment and the chance to be part of a growing supply chain team. The ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting items up to 50 lbs, is required. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming freight.
- Inspect all shipments for damages, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Accurately record received goods into the inventory system.
- Match received items against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Report any issues or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- Organize and stage received items for put-away.
- Maintain a clean and orderly receiving area, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as required.
- Communicate effectively with carriers and internal departments.
- Strictly follow all safety guidelines and utilize appropriate PPE.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role preferred.
- Understanding of basic logistics and inventory control principles.
- Proficiency in data entry and basic computer applications.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
