We are looking for a proactive and experienced Warehouse Coordinator to lead operations at our facility in Detroit, Michigan. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily warehouse activities, ensuring the efficient flow of goods, managing inventory levels, and coordinating the work of warehouse staff. You will be instrumental in optimizing warehouse processes, maintaining a safe working environment, and ensuring timely order fulfillment. Responsibilities include scheduling staff, managing inventory control systems, coordinating with shipping and receiving departments, and enforcing all Safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE . This position requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of warehouse Logistics . Your ability to handle multiple priorities and guide a team is crucial for success. Experience with managing resources and improving operational efficiency is highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct all warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Manage inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and implement strategies for accuracy and efficiency.
- Schedule and supervise warehouse personnel, ensuring adequate staffing and performance.
- Implement and enforce all company Safety policies and procedures to maintain a secure work environment.
- Ensure proper training on equipment operation, product handling, and PPE usage for all staff.
- Optimize warehouse layout and workflows to enhance productivity and reduce costs within the Logistics chain.
- Coordinate with transportation providers for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Maintain warehouse equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
- Handle inquiries and resolve issues related to inventory and shipments.
- Monitor and report on key warehouse performance metrics.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or management.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and Logistics best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including occasional Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace Safety and experience implementing safety programs.
- Experience in managing staff and optimizing team performance.
- Familiarity with PPE requirements and ensuring compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
