We are seeking a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to join our team in Austin, Texas. This role is vital to the smooth functioning of our logistics and supply chain operations. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately documenting and processing all incoming shipments. Your duties will include unloading deliveries, inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies, verifying packing slips against purchase orders, and accurately entering data into our inventory management system. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, and you will be required to use appropriate PPE and follow all warehouse safety protocols. If you have excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to work in a critical role within the logistics field, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Inspect all incoming merchandise for damages and discrepancies.
- Verify packing slips against purchase orders and invoices.
- Accurately record received goods into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label incoming inventory as required.
- Report any shipping errors or damaged goods to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques.
- Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment as needed.
- Ensure proper staging of received goods for put-away.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in a receiving, inventory, or warehouse role is a plus.
- Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, such as safety vests and gloves.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
