Join our thriving logistics network as a Shipping Clerk in Omaha, Nebraska. In this role, you will be the orchestrator of our outbound shipments, ensuring that all packages are processed accurately and dispatched on time. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipment details, and maintaining accurate shipping records. You will work closely with the warehouse team to ensure smooth transitions from packing to shipping. This position demands excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail to guarantee that every shipment meets our high standards. You will be responsible for ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate, facilitating the efficient flow of goods. Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating with various departments and external partners. This role involves consistent lifting of items up to 40 lbs.
Responsibilities:
- Generate and print shipping labels using our WMS.
- Schedule pickups with various shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS, LTL).
- Verify that package contents match order details before dispatch.
- Maintain accurate records of all outbound shipments.
- Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding shipment status.
- Ensure all packages comply with carrier regulations and company policies.
- Load and unload shipments as needed, following proper lifting techniques.
- Maintain a clean and orderly shipping area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
Requirements:
Experience with shipping software and carrier portals is preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in data entry and record-keeping. Understanding of warehouse operations and safety procedures. A commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all guidelines, including wearing required PPE, is essential.
