We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our expansive logistics hub in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will be instrumental in the smooth flow of materials throughout our distribution center, ensuring efficient movement and organization of goods. Your primary responsibilities will include operating forklifts and other heavy machinery, loading and unloading trucks, and transporting materials to and from various warehouse locations. This position requires precision, a strong understanding of safety procedures, and the ability to manage materials effectively in a high-volume environment. We prioritize a safe working atmosphere, and all Material Handlers are expected to rigorously follow all safety guidelines, including the correct use of PPE. - Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Move materials and inventory to designated storage areas.
- Transport raw materials and finished goods throughout the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment before operation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Physical ability to perform lifting up to 60 lbs regularly.
- Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Commitment to a strong safety culture.
