We have an exciting opportunity for a meticulous Shipping Clerk in our bustling New York City logistics facility. This role is central to ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulations. You will manage the preparation of shipping documents, coordinate with carriers, track shipments, and liaise with internal departments to guarantee seamless logistics. The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses excellent communication skills, and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced urban environment. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to Safety are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading, customs forms, and manifests.
- Coordinate with various freight carriers (local and international) to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Track the status of all outgoing shipments and provide timely updates.
- Verify that all outbound shipments match order details and customer requirements.
- Inspect packages for proper packaging and labeling before dispatch.
- Maintain an organized and efficient shipping area.
- Ensure strict adherence to all company policies, industry regulations, and Safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, customer service, and external partners.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counting as required.
- Utilize shipping software and other technology tools to manage the shipping process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in a Shipping Clerk role or similar logistics position.
- Proficiency with shipping software and MS Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Must be able to perform tasks requiring moderate Lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to wearing all required PPE and promoting a culture of Safety.
