Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated engineer in training to join our team as we develop SKAA into a global compatibility standard for wireless audio.

This is an exciting and challenging position where you will be contributing directly our embedded firmware R&D. At Eleven new hires are given a chance to make real technical contributions immediately. You will also have an opportunity to advance and possibly work in other technical fields, including firmware development, microprocessor design, FAE, IC development, and RF design.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience reading and designing electronic schematics
  • Experience in embedded development, including microcontroller programming, prototyping circuits, and interfacing with hardware.
  • Experience working with C++ (experience with C and assembly language will also be considered).
  • Experience working with source control and git
  • Proficiency with basic communications in embedded (UART, I2C, SPI) high-level grasp of wireless is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Altium design suite is an asset
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Primary Responsibilities

The primary role of the Embedded Firmware Engineer is to develop firmware using Eleven Engineering's proprietary microcontroller XInC2 with a focus on Eleven Engineering's customer projects (consumer electronics), and internal projects.

The Embedded Firmware Engineer will work closely with the Hardware Development Engineers to build elegant, efficient, and cost effective solutions. They will also be expected to develop a tight communication loop with both quality assurance staff and end customers to ensure that all shipped products are as stable as possible.

The Embedded Firmware Engineer will provide hardware support to Field Applications staff. Depending on the candidate's aptitude for embedded hardware, the candidate may also be asked to provide basic hardware support to customers, and aid the hardware R&D team with hardware tasks as needed.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

BSc. in Engineering, with a strong preference towards Electrical/Electronics Engineering and Computer Engineering.

Depending on prior experience, BSc. in Computer Science or related disciplines may also be considered.

Registration with APEGA as a P.Eng or E.I.T.
