We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role is fundamental to the smooth flow of goods within our logistics center, involving the movement, storage, and organization of materials. The ideal candidate will be physically capable, possess a strong sense of responsibility, and be committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. You'll be handling a variety of materials critical to our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and move materials within the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Organize and store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper inventory management.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and packaging materials to and from production or shipping areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure safe and proper operation.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and proficiently (certification may be required or provided).
- Use proper lifting techniques to manage heavy loads and prevent injuries.
- Support the logistics team by ensuring materials are available when and where needed.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to achieve daily operational goals.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment as instructed.
- Contribute to a culture of safety and efficiency in all material handling tasks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
