We are seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team in Baltimore, Maryland. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory. You will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, conducting regular inventory counts (cycle counts and full physical inventories), investigating discrepancies, and implementing procedures to minimize stock loss. Your efforts will directly impact the efficiency of our warehouse operations and the overall success of our logistics. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of inventory management principles, be highly detail-oriented, and possess excellent analytical skills. Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is essential. You must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment that may involve moderate lifting and standing for extended periods. Adherence to all safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE, is non-negotiable to ensure a safe working environment. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder points.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures.
- Track the movement of goods within the warehouse and update inventory records in the WMS.
- Identify and report damaged or obsolete inventory.
- Assist with receiving and shipping processes as needed to verify inventory accuracy.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement in our logistics operations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a related warehouse/logistics role.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
