Operate a forklift safely and efficiently in our Charlotte, North Carolina warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for moving materials, loading and unloading trucks, and assisting with inventory management. A strong emphasis on safety, proper equipment operation, and adherence to all warehouse protocols is required. This role is critical to the smooth functioning of our logistics operations and ensuring timely movement of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move, stack, and unstack inventory.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement of goods.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory control, including cycle counting and stock rotation.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work collaboratively with other warehouse personnel to meet operational goals.
- Follow all procedures related to logistics and the handling of goods.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or operational inefficiencies.
Qualifications:
- Valid Forklift Operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in various environmental conditions.
- Understanding of the importance of PPE and compliance with safety regulations.
- Good spatial awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with basic inventory management concepts is a plus.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient logistics environment.
