Join our thriving warehouse operations in Richmond, Virginia as a Forklift Operator. We are looking for a certified and safety-conscious individual to manage the movement of materials throughout our facility. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating forklifts to load, unload, stack, and transport goods, playing a critical role in our logistics and inventory management. Your expertise ensures the efficient and secure handling of products.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and proficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and shipping containers.
- Move inventory to and from designated storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Stack and rack materials securely to specified heights.
- Perform routine pre-operation checks and basic maintenance on forklifts, reporting any defects.
- Assist with inventory counts and help maintain accurate stock levels.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear and safe operating paths.
- Support the overall logistics and supply chain efficiency of the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Demonstrated ability to operate various types of forklifts.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices in material handling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong spatial awareness and good hand-eye coordination.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Must be reliable and adhere strictly to safety guidelines and PPE requirements.
