We are seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts. In this crucial role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the receiving process. Your responsibilities will include verifying shipment contents against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and properly documenting all received items. This position is fundamental to our Logistics operations, requiring a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining inventory integrity. A strong emphasis on Safety and the proper use of PPE is paramount in this role. If you are organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in a warehouse environment, this opportunity is for you.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify that quantities and item descriptions match purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect incoming goods for any damage or discrepancies.
- Document all received items accurately in the inventory management system.
- Label and stage incoming goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the use of required PPE.
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding shipment issues.
- Support Logistics team in maintaining efficient inventory flow.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety best practices.
- Willingness to wear appropriate PPE, such as safety vests and gloves.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills.
