We are hiring a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk for our Virginia Beach, Virginia location. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. This includes preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and verifying package contents. A keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills are essential for success. You will be a key link in our logistics chain, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to our customers. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs forms.
- Verify outgoing orders against packing lists to ensure accuracy.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with various shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL, etc.).
- Operate shipping software and update tracking information.
- Inspect outgoing packages for proper packaging and labeling.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Assist with receiving duties as needed.
- Adhere to strict safety guidelines and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping or logistics preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Familiarity with carrier services and shipping methods.
- Commitment to safe work practices.
