Pharmacy Assistant

Remedy'sRx Northview is seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Pharmacy Assistant to join our dedicated team As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and supporting the daily operations of the pharmacy.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greet customers warmly and provide professional, friendly assistance.

• Respond to customer inquiries, providing accurate and helpful information.

• Assist customers in locating and selecting products, including over-the-counter medications and health-related items.

• Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing prescription medications.

• Ensure accurate counting, labeling and packaging of prescription medications.

• Perform medication inventory management, including stock rotation and monitoring expiry dates.

• Maintain a clean and organized dispensing area, ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations.

• Receive and review prescriptions for completeness and accuracy.

• Enter prescription information into the pharmacy software system.

• Collaborate with the pharmacist to clarify prescription details or resolve any issues.

• Assist in maintaining prescription files and records.

• Perform general administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and handling correspondence.

• Maintain and update patient profiles, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.

• Assist in the preparation and submission of insurance claims.

• Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations.

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant (at least 1 year) is required.

• Post-secondary education in pharmacy or a related field is considered an asset.

• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, prescription processing, and dispensing procedures. Compounding experience is considered an asset.

• Familiarity with pharmacy software system (Kroll) is an asset.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications and customer transactions.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
