Title: Business Analyst State Role Title: Policy Planning Spec I Hiring Range: Commensurate with experience Pay Band: 4 Agency: Department of Taxation Location: Westmoreland Agency Website: https://www.tax.virginia.gov/work-with-us Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties Virginia Tax is seeking a Business Analyst to support our robust e-File program. This position serves as the business analyst for electronic return and payment submission systems with primary focus on e-File software provider management which includes e-File including free fillable forms. Tax Processing is responsible for the annual processing of over 14 million tax returns and 8 million payments which help ensure refunds are issued timely and critical Government operations, such as education, public safety, and programs for those in need, received the necessary funding. As a Business Analyst, you would become part of a dedicated team. You would support a robust e-File software provider monitor program by: Coordination of annual software provider agreements is validated against the Department's requirements. Proactively monitor software vendor's performance to identify software issues impacting taxpayers' filing experience. Communication with software vendors. Providing functional testing support. Create annual surveys and compile results. Run daily queries and analyze results. Developing instructions and guides. Testing software applications Developing and maintaining documentation. Anticipated hiring range is commensurate with experience up to $70,388. This position is located in Richmond, VA at our Westmoreland Street location. This position will become eligible for up to two telework days per week after first year of employment is completed. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge and experience in Business Analysis Experience researching, gathering data, documenting and reporting results Ability to analyze information, assess, draw conclusions and make recommendations Experience developing instructions and guides Experience with testing software applications, systems and/or processes Additional Considerations Experience with tax or financial software/computer programs Ability to work independently and ability to make sound decisions Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers Ability to follow written and verbal procedures Special Instructions You will be provided a confirmation of receipt when your application and/or rsum is submitted successfully.
