We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist for our Virginia Beach, Virginia facility. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing and improving all aspects of our inventory management system. This includes developing and implementing inventory control procedures, conducting regular audits, analyzing data to identify trends, and resolving complex discrepancies. Your expertise will be vital to ensuring the accuracy, availability, and proper handling of all stock within our logistics operations. Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits (cycle counts, physical inventories) to ensure accuracy.
- Analyze inventory data to identify discrepancies, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Investigate root causes of inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
- Manage stock rotation, including FIFO/LIFO principles, to minimize obsolescence.
- Oversee the process of receiving, put-away, and storage to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and sales teams to optimize inventory levels.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Ensure compliance with all Safety regulations and implement necessary controls.
- Train and mentor junior inventory staff as needed.
- Manage and minimize inventory write-offs and shrinkage.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of all goods to prevent damage.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in inventory control or management within a warehouse or distribution environment.
- In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles and WMS.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to handle occasional moderate Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- A strong focus on Safety and compliance.
Requirements:
- Must be eligible to work in the US.
- Willingness to adhere to all company policies, including PPE requirements.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
