We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in San Diego, California. This role is crucial for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently, meeting our company's high standards for customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for preparing, verifying, and dispatching orders, maintaining shipping records, and coordinating with carriers to ensure timely deliveries.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Verify outgoing shipments against packing lists to ensure accuracy.
- Operate shipping software and equipment, such as scanners and printers.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with other departments, including sales and customer service, to resolve shipping issues.
- Ensure all shipments comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and shipping software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Willingness to wear required PPE.
